Whats up guys, the guys over at Anthem dropped some knowledge nuggets on us a few days ago. Ben Irving and Darren McPherson sat down and talked about the gear, components and how your power/play style are going to unfold in Anthem. There are 6 gear grades. Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, Masterwork and Legendary. Each will have a gear score that determine how powerful that gear is. The armor and weapons in Anthem will have Inscriptions on them. Inscriptions are perks in Anthem and give different stat increases and mods. Depending on the grade of gear, each will have 1-5 Inscriptions. There is also Pilot level. The higher your Pilot level, the more components, ordinance, abilities, slots and other things will unlock.


Crafting is in Anthem, each crafted item will be determined by a characters gear score. The higher it is, the higher the crafted gear will be. Along with Crafting, there is Salvaging. Salvaging will give you materials for destroying weapons and armor. You'll need different Salvaged materials for each different blueprint.


What's really cool are components. Components will alter how you and your javelin play. For example, you can spec your components for explosion damage, direct damage, longer flight, melee ect. There are a ton of different possibilities and combinations
