In this Clip, I'll show you how to beat Genichiro and then Isshin, The Sword Saint. Isshin is the last story boss in Sekiro. However, there is one more boss after him, the Demon of Hatred which ill make a video on when i finally beat it.
The fight with Genichiro is just like the other 2 fights we had with him, so use the same tactics of deflecting his attacks and countering his unavoidable attacks. He's pretty easy and only has 1 health bar, see keep engaged and fill up his posture meter.
After Genichiro, Isshin makes his appearance. Isshin, The Sword Saint doesn't go down easily. Isshin has soe very powerful attacks and combos you should be aware of. The first is his unavoidable sweeping attack, you can tell he's about to preform it when he grabs his blade at his left hip for about 1 second, any longer and well be doing a different attack. Anyways, you can deflect the first attack, the jump to counter his second. You'll do major posture damage to him. Also, Isshin has a thrust attack you'll want to use the Miriki Counter on. You can tell he's about to use his thrust attack when he pushes you back, be ready to close the gap and Miriki Counter him. Try to stay engaged with hm as much as possible, as his posture meter will decrease rapidly if you dont.
In Isshin's second phase, he starts to use a Lance. I used the strategy of sticking to him like glue, or at east trying to. Making sure he didn't have an advantage in using the lance. Look for opportunities when hes using his jump attack to deflect or dodge and follow up with a few counter attacks. If you sense he's about to back-step and sweep, dodge forward and stay with him, you'll avoid this attack and be in position for a counter. Isshin also has a devistating Lance combo that can do some major posture damage to yourself if you try and deflect all them. Isshin will also often follow up with a thrust attack which you can use Miriki Counter on and cause some posture damage. I however felt it was best to just avoid him while he was using this combo.
In Isshin, The Sword Saint third phase, the fight runs about the same as the second phase. However, he has a few new attacks. One being the Dragon Flash, this is a quick cross slash attack which is hard to dodge and predict. It will do some major damage if you get hit with both of the slashes so be ready for it. The other major attack you want to look out for is his Lightning Strike. When you see the red symbol appear on Isshin and he then jumps into the air, you should too. If timed correctly, you'll catch the lightning strike and be able to use Lightning Reversal on Isshin. Lightning Reversal is very powerful and a key to winning this fight. Lightning Reversal will do about 20% of his posture meter and open him up for a few attacks too. Keep a him and use this strategy until you too have become the real Sword Saint!
